Joakim Noah Ejected from Game vs. Kings, Drops F-Bomb on Each Ref Before Exit
Updates from Tuesday, Feb. 4
Actions have consequences, as Joakim Noah has now learned.
After his outburst—and you could probably find a more extreme word to describe his reaction to being ejected—Noah has now been fined by the league, according to Yahoo! Sports' Marc J. Spears:
Bulls Joakim Noah Fined $15K for verbally abusing the officials upon his ejection during Bulls' 99-70 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Feb. 3— Marc J. Spears (@SpearsNBAYahoo) February 4, 2014
Those are some expensive F-bombs.
Noah has commented on his fine. Via K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune:
Noah on fine: "I think it was fair. It was a bad mistake on my part. I have to keep my cool under all circumstances."— K.C. Johnson (@KCJHoop) February 5, 2014
Noah: "I could’ve easily been suspended for a game and that would’ve been really hard for me not to be able to be there for my teammates."— K.C. Johnson (@KCJHoop) February 5, 2014
Joakim Noah has never been one to keep his emotions bottled up. On Monday night, we saw a prime example of that going terribly wrong.
So Joakim Noah picks up a 2nd tech, goes up to each ref and screams "f**k you", and gets escorted off the floor #Bulls— Gettin Buckets (@GettinBuckets91) February 4, 2014
Noah offered a postgame apology for the incident, via the Chicago Tribune:
I shouldn't have acted that way. I apologize, I'm sorry to all three of the referees out there. They're trying to do their jobs. ... I hope they accept my apology and I hope we can move on from this.
The premature exit ended Noah's double-digit rebounding streak at 18 games, per K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.
