Ermon Lane is the No. 1 wide receiver, according to the 247Sports composite rankings, so he'll undoubtedly be one of the major commitments of this recruiting cycle.

According to a recent VIP report from Luke Stampini of 247Sports, Lane is looking to decide before the football season, and he has a program in mind.

Alabama, Florida and Miami are the three teams on top of his 247Sports interest list, so it looks like those are the schools that Lane will be choosing from. Thomas Goldkamp of 247Sports confirmed with me via Twitter message that Florida and Alabama seem to be the consensus leaders, with Miami behind.

Update: Stampini of 247Sports reports (VIP) that Lane won't make any more summer trips. His last unofficial visit was to Miami, per Stampini.

In what we hope to be an epic series (Check out Da'Shawn Hand's), we here at the Signed, Sealed, Delivered blog have put together a fake account of what we imagine it would be like if each of the coaches in Lane's top three called him to leave a message. Note: These are indeed satirical in nature.

You've reached Ermon Lane, leave a message at the beep...

"Ermon? Al Golden here. Just sitting here looking at my 2014 class on paper and I realized that we're missing something here at The U. We've got our star offensive tackle in Kc McDermott, a star running back in Joseph Yearby and our quarterback of the future in Brad Kaaya, but we could definitely use a marquee, game-changing wide receiver. No disrespect to Darrell Langham, of course, because he'll be good as well.

Can you imagine our offense with you in it? McDermott anchoring the line, Yearby dominating the run game and you and Brad essentially playing 500 all the way to the ACC title game?

Man, I get excited just thinking about it.

We've had some rough times here at Miami, I can't deny it, but the future is extremely bright. Just look at this class. We're poised to do some great things and restore The U to its rightful place on top of the college football world.

You're the key to that though, and I'm sure of it.

I like my class now, but if you were to commit, your presence alone could help bring some more attention to the Hurricanes on the recruiting trail.

We could be looking at something great.

You know how close Coral Gables is to Homestead, so your family and friends could always be there to watch you lead us back to the promised land.

We'd be a great fit.

Talk to you soon."

Florida

"Hello, this is coach Will Muschamp of the Florida Gators. I'm calling for Ermon Lane. Ermon, we know that we're one of your top schools and I just wanted to call and let you know how much that means to us here at Florida.

You're the best receiver in the nation and we appreciate having your interest.

Let's talk football. First of all, if you commit to us you'll get to play in the SEC, and I don't have to explain what that means for your career. It's the best conference in college football, Ermon, and it's the quickest path to getting a ring.

I know you're looking at Alabama, and I don't blame you, but I feel we're putting together something special up here that can compete with them. Last year's class was great defensively, but we also got a few offensive pieces to bring into the mix as well.

This year I've already got pledges from Dalvin Cook, Will Grier and J.C. Jackson, all who have great offensive potential.

You've seen Grier and Cook in action at The Opening, so you know just how dangerous this offensive unit can be.

Grier's got the arm that will really allow us to open up the offense, and you have the skills to be our go-to guy through the air.

Can you imagine playing in The Swamp on national television? Can you imagine restoring Florida to championship glory? It doesn't get any better than that.

I'll talk to you later, and go Gators."

Alabama

"This is Nick Saban. Come play for us at Alabama and you'll win championships and go to the NFL. It's a simple equation, Ermon.

Call me back. Just sitting here watching tape of Texas A&M (mumbles something under his breath that sounds a lot like "i'll show you dehydrated", but it's hard to tell).
